Here is the breakdown of my judging on all submissions...
1) Poodle on a Router (Andrew)- All three qualifications satisfied probably, but you just couldn't see what was happening. Unfortunately it was too hastily done, without consideration of what the picture would look like. Good first effort though, and it certainly started the ball rolling.
2) Dog on a Cell Phone (Julie)- Thank you for this submission. It opened up a level to this contest that I hadn't planned on, and brought some fun to the whole thing.
3) Poodle on a CD (Andrew)- If discomforting the animal was the sole qualification, this is easily the winner. I also think that this was the best someone could do without easy access to an animal (and your friend should be commended for putting up with this).
Above is the other picture sent, which I didn't publish because at the time I decided to pick just one and I thought the other was better. The reason I picked the other was simply because the dog's face seems to be screaming, "What the heck do you think you're doing?". If you scroll down and click on the picture and you can see the dogs's eyes staring Andrew down. After looking at that, the picture above just seems like the owner is either comforting or maybe just holding the dog down. Excellent work (if discomforting animals is your thing).
4) Orangutan on George Foreman Grill (Ben)- I like it. But I never could find the grill.
5) Giraffe on a Watch (Julie)- Email conversation upon receipt-
Me- Funny but low
Julie- Okay, i withdraw this one entry.
Me- Too late, it is already up! The delete function is broken, and at lifeblog we are focused 100% on quantity.
6) Mountain Gorilla on Boom box (Pat)- I thought this was the best of the submissions if you don't take qualification 3 into account. The gorilla looks proud, and why not sitting on a beautiful golden boom box? If all zoo gorillas were given boom boxes, this world would be a perfect place.
7) Grizzly Bear on Sad Copier...Mommy is That Godzilla (Pat)- If this was just held on the creativity factor, I think it is arguable that this one is the winner.
8) Turtle on Automatic Door Unlocking Thinga Majiggy (Julia)- Great. Uses all qualifications, and though I don't have any way of knowing whether it took a long time, it looks like it was a process.
9) Snake on PSP (Fay)- Definitely the most formidable (actual) animal in the contest. Also it could be argued... the most expensive of the (actual) electronic devices used. A professional quality photo and the PSP is in peril...so...it works well.
Basically it all boiled down to numbers 9 and 8.
And The Winner Is!
Number 8.
Here is why, and it wasn't an easy choice...
a)The turtle was taken out of where it resides, which I am assuming is one of the buckets in the background whereas the snake in picture 9 looked like it was in it's aquarium.
b)The turtle doesn't seem to be enjoying any part of this. The snake (without being able to see it's face) doesn't seem to mind.
and I hate to be a stickler, but when tough decisions have to be made, rules come in to play-
c) This contest started with my basic website idea largeanimalsonsmallelectronics.com. It can easily be argued that a turtle is smaller than a snake, but what can't be argued is that the snake was wrapped around the PSP, and the turtle was actually on the automatic door unlocking thinga majiggy. Nice work Julia.
Once again, thank you for your submissions.
Julia, you officially have a t-shirt coming. Please email me your address and t-shirt size, and I will get that right to you.

Thank you for your lengthy explanation. It is important for future contests to understand the intricate mind of the judge. So, what is the next contest?
