Winner To Be Announced Tomorrow.

For now, a strange mix cd I recently made that came out considerably well despite the odd song selection...

Track 1- The Beatles...Do You Want to Know a Secret
"Do you want to know a secret? Do you promise not to tell? CLOSER. Let me whisper in your ear."
Track 2- The Mountain Goats...No Children
"I hope when you think of me years down the line, you can't find one good thing to say, and I hope that if I had the strength to walk out, you'd stay the hell out of my way."
Track 3- David Bowie...Ashes to Ashes
"Ashes to ashes, funk to flunky, we know Major Tom's a junkie, strung out in heaven's highs, hitting an all time low."
Track 4- Elliott Smith...Memory Lane
"I do what people say and lie in bed all day... absolutely horrified. I hope you're satisfied."
Track 5- Kimya Dawson...Tire Swing
"Joey never met a bike that he didn't want to ride, and I never met a Toby that I didn't like. Scotty liked all of the books that I recommended, and even if he didn't I wouldn't be offended."
Track 6- Radiohead...High and Dry
"Two jumps in a week, I bet you think that's pretty clever, don't you boy."
Track 7- Elvis Costello...Lipstick Vogue
"Maybe they told you you were only a girl in a million, you say I got no feelings... this is a good way to kill them."
Track 8- Mama Cass...Dream a Little Dream
"Sweet dreams till sunbeams find you, sweet dreams that leave our worries far behind you. But in your dreams whatever they be, dream a little dream of me."
Track 9- Talib Kweli...Get By
"Our parents sing like John Lennon, "Imagine all the people watch." We rock like Paul McCartney from now until the last Beatle drops."
Track 10- Counting Crows...Hanging Around
"We spent all day getting sober, hiding from daylight, watching TV. We just look a lot better in the blue light, but you know I got to get out, but I'm stuck so tight, weighed by the chains that keep me hanging around."
Track 11- Randy Newman...I Love L.A.
"Look at that mountain. Look at those trees. Look at the bum over there, man, he is down on his knees. Look at these women, ain't nothing like 'em nowhere."
Track 12- Vampire Weekend...Bryn
"Oh, Bryn, you see through the dark, right past the fireflies that sleep in my heart."
Track 13- The Silver Jews...I'm Gonna Love the Hell Out of You
"I learned double entry bookkeeping when I was twelve years old, I learned there's no imagination in the blues. They registered my name, with the catholic hall of fame, and she said..."
Track 14- Kimya Dawson...So Nice, So Smart
"I like boys with strong convictions and convicts with perfect diction. Underdogs with good intentions, amputees with stamp collections. Plywood skim boards ride the ocean, salty noses suntan lotion, always seriously joking and rambunctiously soft spoken."
Track 15- My Morning Jacket...Where to Begin
"It's the art of feeling naked in your clothes."
Track 16- Sly and the Family Stone...Hot Fun in the Summertime
"Them summer days, those summer days"
Track 17- Supergrass...Caught by the Fuzz
"Here comes my mum, now, she knows what I've done, just tell them the truth, you know where it's from. You've blackened our name, well, you should be ashamed."
Track 18- Sublime...By the Rivers of Babylon
"So let the words of our mouth, and the meditation of our heart be acceptable in thy sight."
Track 19- David Lee Roth...Just a Gigolo
"Won't some sweet mama come and take a chance with me, cause I ain't so bad."
Track 20- Radiohead...Thinkin' Bout You
"I've been thinking about you, so how can you sleep, these people aren't your friends, they pay to kiss your feet. They don't know what I know, and why should you care, when I'm not there."
Track 21- Albert Hammond, Jr.... Blue Skies
"It's been years since I saw you, but each day I see your face. And in time you'll remind me, that I wish we were the same."
Track 22- The Squirrel Nut Zippers...Anything but Love
"He had to go, but I won't miss him, I've got better things to do. Like writing stories and painting pictures of anything but love."
Track 23- The Libertines...I Don't Hear the Music
"And though the memories of the pubs and the clubs and the drugs and the tubs we shared together will stay with me forever, all the highs and the lows and the tos and the fros, they left me dizzy, won't you please forgive me. I no longer hear the music."
Track 24- Hold Steady...Most People are DJs
"A thousand kids will fall in love in all these clubs tonight, a thousand other kids will end up gushing blood tonight. Two thousand kids won't get a lot of sleep tonight, two thousand kids they'll still feel pretty sweet tonight... Yeah...pretty sweet."
