I had one of those dreams last night.
I was walking down a street and happened to walk by a girl that I had a long term wall ridden (wanted more) friendship with. When I walked up next to her I noticed that she was not with the boyfriend she has been with for many years now. When our eyes met my whole dream went color, almost technicolor. Even though I spent years scared to get too close, in this dream I didn't say a word, and instead reached out my hand to her, and even though she had always feared that our friendship would not successfully transfer into a relationship... her eyes glazed and she put her hand in mine.
When our hands met I could feel the skin on her hand against mine, she smiled and my heart sped up. We happened to be walking in a park and walked over to a bench where we began kissing.
I woke up very shortly after in a great mood. After looking at my alarm clock I noticed I had another hour to sleep, so I closed my eyes .
When my alarm clock finally went off, I got out of bed feeling no less great.
Janice has bought another van and picked me up to go to a company meeting. Although the ride was stress filled and the directions fuzzy, we ended up at our destination... The Catonsville Country Club. The grass was green, and the club was perfect. We made it there with 15 minutes to spare and were able to partake in the continental breakfast. I first started with the coffee where I was met by a former manager who complimented me for dressing well (I wore a suit to this function). I put a packet of sugar into my mug, then dumped a little cream on top, then avoided the orange coded decaf coffee thing, put my mug under the spicket, pushed the button and noticed the liquid coming out was clear before I quickly released the button. Only about an eighth cup of water came out and with no sink in sight, I just went ahead and filled the rest of the cup with coffee... no big deal.
The meeting went fine, and we left. Janice and I went to Burger King where I paid for her Whopper meal in repayment for her picking me up.
Back at the office I sat down and worked hard to catch up with the clients who were in need of assistance. I had a reminder pop up that told me to call one of my large clients. I called and reached the secretary who told me he did not want to run the ad for this week. I killed the ad, and saw my numbers reflect the loss.
I checked my messages and realized that my tax preparation had happened. After calling the company the bad news I was expecting was delivered and I owe more money I don't have to the government.
I decided then to call a flower shop whom I thought would at least raise my spirits by placing a Mother's Day ad, but no such luck.
I asked Janice for a ride home so I could finish my tax preparation before they closed. I signed the papers, paid for the service and walked out thinking about how I was going to handle this new addition to my financial burden. About 20 paces from the building I heard a "YO" and turned around to see the representative chasing after me to return my debit card. "Did I leave anything else?" I asked him.
I stopped at the gas station to pick up some stamps. The attendant asked me "How many do you want?" I returned "Let me get a book" to which he said that they sell them at the same rate as the machine... 2 for $1.25. I told him that I wanted 4, put them in my tax stuff and moped home.
